Teams Arrive

If you arrive from outside of Shanghai we will help you localize; i.e. find housing, acquire SIM cards for mobile phones, set up personal bank accounts, etc.

Orientation

Program begins with an orientation workshop to prepare you for what to expect each week and allow you to get to know the other entrepreneurs in the program.

Chinaccelerator Demo Day

Watch Chinaccelerator's Demo Day livestream to set a clear goal in mind for the level you will strive to develop your company to. This serves to showcase the benefits the Chinaccelerators Program provides.

Workshop: Problem Exploration

Learn the techniques of customer segmentation, customer interviews, as well as other customer research methods.

Customer Interviews

Segment your target customer base and conduct in-depth customer interviews to identify multiple customer segments with strong pain points that need to be solved. Between one and three rounds of interviews will be conducted each day, with a minimum of 10 interviews per round. A minimum of five rounds with a combined total of at least 50 interviews will be finished by the end.

Week 2
Workshop: Solution Validation

Learn how to design a proper landing page experiment, how to target online acquisition channels (mainly social media and paid channels), how to create a pricing strategy and test pricing plans.

Workshop: Branding

Learn brand and product positioning, methods for coming up with a good name and purchasing or acquiring a good domain name, how to design a professional logo and color palette, as well as create a strong value proposition, tagline, and product pitch.

10 DEC
Landing Page Tests

Leveraging learnings from the previous week, you will launch landing pages to validate potential solutions, customer acquisition channels, product features, and pricing. Multiple iterations of at least 3 solutions will be tested and at least 3 channels will be tested per solution. The winning solution will have at least 50 sign-ups for a paid plan of at least $9/ month.

Week 3
Workshop: MVP Development

Learn how to effectively utilize Twitter’s Bootstrap front-end framework and open source development frameworks including Phoenix, Ruby on Rails, and React Native. Create a product prioritization roadmap to be updated on a weekly basis based on customer feedback.

Workshop: UX & Wireframing

Learn from examples of successful application UI and UX paradigms. Research and create a Product Teardown of a comparable application to what you expect to develop. Finally, wireframe the frontend UI and UX for your first MVP.

MVP Development 1

Execute on product prioritization roadmap and wireframes to develop your first MVP.

Workshop: Stripe Payments

Implement Stripe to collect payments in your application.

MVP 1 Launch

Release your MVP to the first 30 paying customers. Track and record in-app activity with FullStory.com.

Week 4
Workshop: Dashboard Development

Learn how to create a backend admin dashboard and what metrics you should be tracking. Create a mockup for your own admin dashboard.

Workshop: User Testing

Learn about the different User Testing tools available and how to set up user testing studies.

Analyze data from FullStory, distribute and analyze feedback using Javelin’s Product/Market Fit Survey, and conduct at least 10 in-person (recorded) user testing sessions.

MVP Development 2

Analyze and present your user testing results to the program directors. Decide to pivot or persevere, then start work on the second MVP.

9 JAN
MVP 2 Launch

Notify your existing customers about product updates and open the app to the next 50 paying customers. Extra time is given for additional marketing and promotion to reach early adopters.

Review examples of user onboarding flows from successful apps and learn how to create your own onboarding goals and flow.

Learn how to find, approach, and pitch journalists about your product.

Workshop: Marketing & Growth Hacking

Learn the Bullseye Framework and apply it to your project. Plan a mini-launch which includes listing your product on popular websites like ProductHunt.com and BetaCandy.com.

Marketing Sprint

Time to sell! Focus on daily marketing and promotion exercises to reach the target of $5k/month recurring SaaS revenue. If you have already reached this mark you can focus on activities of your choosing.

Demo Day / Closing Party

The program will conclude with a party and demo event.
